Blossoms of Light at the Denver Botanic Gardens was nominated as one of 20 gardens for USA Today’s Best Botanic Gardens Holiday Lights poll. It seems the rest of the country is figuring out what the people of Denver have known for thirty years. This garden has the best lights around, and it seems to get better every year. In fact, the Denver Botanic Gardens has expanded Blossoms of Light for this year.
This year’s event will run through Jan. 1 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., including holidays. Tickets are $16 for adults and $13 for children ages 3 to 15 when purchased in advance. The prices go up by $5 each if you purchase at the door.

More than a Simple Light Display
There are lots of light displays in the Denver area, but none come close to this one. First, it takes around an hour to make it through all the lights, so this is a huge display. It’s also unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Take the interactive display, for instance. You can play one of the instruments located at the display and watch as the lights react to the sounds. The display will also react to the sound of your voice, so have a little chat with it while you’re there.
The Carolers
Just in case the lights aren’t enough, you can take in a caroling performance as well. There are carolers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on select nights. If you want to see some carolers close to Christmas, Zelda Blue will be there on Dec. 30. That’s just one of the many nights you can enjoy some music.
